Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) focuses on addressing the underlying causes of behaviours of concern. When the underlying causes are addressed and the needs of the person are met, the frequency and intensity of the behaviours reduce and quality of life is improved.
PBS is an evidence-based, values-informed approach.
Our PBS Practitioners work closely with participants and their families to develop, implement, monitor and review effective strategies. These strategies take into consideration the context in which behaviours of concern occur and the different environments in the person's life whilst also safeguarding the rights and dignity of the person.
NDIS Support Coordination is a service that is sometimes included in a participant's NDIS plan.
NDIS Support Coordinators do lots of things but their main purpose is to help people choose and implement supports and services not only through their NDIS plans but also by connecting to mainstream, community, and other services and supports.
It is important that the participant is empowered to exercise choice and control over the supports and services they want in their life.
